NREM SLEEP

REM SLEEP

No rapid eye movement

Rapid eye movement present.

Each cycle last abou 70 minutes

5-30min

Begins with NREM and followed by REM

Always alternate with NREM

Occupies major part of sleep

ECG similar to awake so,called as paradoxical sleep
