HEMATOLOGY:-leucocytes-WBC

 WBC:-

-nucleated cells ,without hemoglobin -colorless

-irregular shape

-lifespan-hour, days

-normal count 4000-11000/cellmm/mm3

Leucocytes -condition in which there is an increase in WBC COUNT -mature can be controlled

-leukemia -increase in WBC ,immature -uncontrollable -non functioning

-leukocytopenia-deacrease IN WBC count ,due to exposure to XRAYS, depression of bone marrow ,too much use of antibiotics-effects the bone ,marrow

Classification:-

1)agranlocytes(depend on agranule and unlobed nucleus)

i)lymphocytes

ii)monocyte

2)granulocyte

(lobed nuclease granules are present)

i)neutrophil

ii)esinophil

iii)basophil

Neutrophil classified according to no. of lobes

  1. 2 -lobed

  2. 2)3 lobed-40-45%

  3. 4 lobed 15-20%

  4. 5 lobed -minimun 4-10%

Function of WBC :_

Whenever there is an injury or any microbial infection the neutrophils runs to the affected part

-eosinophil release histamine during allergic reaction

-basophil releases heparin the natural anti coagulant to provide fluid property of blood
