function:-
-regulation of fluid volume in extravascular and redistribution of fluid
-absorption of fatty acid and fat soluble vitamin in the villi of small intestine and carried by  lymph 
-microbes and microbial toxin are destroyed by the lymphocyte which increase in number and therefore the lymph node gets enlarged during infection
provides nutrition and oxygen to the tissue where blood supply doesn't reach 
-return of proteins from interstitial space back to blood 
per day 200 g of protein back to blood
