packed cell volume:-
also known as haemotacrit volume
- it is the percentage of packed red cells
- plasma normal value
- male -45+- 7%
- female 42 +- 5%
- significance:-
- looking at the content we can check if the patient is suffering from anemia
- if plasma is yellowish patient is suffering from jaundice
- if plasma is turbid patient is suffering from lipemia
- plasma is pinkish ,hemolysis of RBC
